Jewish Holidays
Fall Holiday Cycle
We begin the fall holiday cycle with a mournful reading of Lamentations on Tisha b'Av. The LJCC celebrates Rosh Hashanah over two days and gathers for Yom Kippur each year. We celebrate Sukkot in our community sukkah and end the season with a boisterous Simchat Torah.
Winter Holidays
We gather each year to light candles for Hannukkah and to consider our relationship to the earth on Tu b'Shvat. The LJCC also commemorates Purim each year with a reading of the megillah and a rowdy party.
Spring Holiday Cycle
In the spring, we remember the Exodus with a community seder at Passover. We gather for a Lag b'Omer party, and at the end of the Omer, embark on a night of learning together for Shavuot.
