Welcome to the Lawrence Jewish Community Congregation!

The LJCC is a lay-led and pluralistic community located in the heart of Lawrence, KS. As a non-denominational shul, we seek to be a home to all the Jews of Lawrence as well as their Jewish-adjacent loved ones. Ours is a community defined by egalitarianism and inclusivity. We achieve this inclusivity through respecting the variety of ways in which people live their Jewishness. We welcome those who wish to join us in that spirit of inclusivity and in our effort to lead more connected and meaningful lives through learning, worship, celebration and the collective pursuit of tikkun olam.

In my talk I will try to put October 7th in historical perspective, to analyze the Israeli response, to discuss the current situation of Zionism and to integrate the story of the war with the political climate in Israel in recent years.
