In anticipation of the KU University Theatre production of Paula Vogel’s Indecent (Sept 27-29), director Henry Bial, along with consultant and Professor RB Perlmutter, will provide a behind-the-scenes preview of the play, and discuss the historical incident on which it is based, the controversial 1923 Broadway premiere of Sholem Asch’s The God of Vengeance (Got fun Nekoyme).

An 18-year member of the LJCC, Henry Bial is a Professor of Theatre and an affiliated faculty member in Jewish Studies at KU. He is the author of Acting Jewish: Negotiating Ethnicity on the American Stage and Screen.
