Tikkun Olam Committee

The Tikkun Olam Committee at the LJCC aims to:

  • Examine the ways in which the LJCC community can better ensure all Jews, Jewish allies, and those genuinely interested in Judaism feel welcomed and included in the life of the Jewish community of Lawrence.
  • Examine the ways in which the LJCC, through acknowledged representatives of the congregation, can better engage with faith communities of color and other marginalized communities in Lawrence.
  • Examine what the LJCC, as a Jewish organization can do to advance and expand social justice to ensure genuinely equitable treatment for all in Lawrence.
  • Recommend changes and actions the board, congregation, and members can take to achieve these ends. 

Volunteer

The LJCC is a monthly participant in the Lawrence Interdenominational Kitchen (L.I.N.K) We always need volunteers to provide casseroles, fruit, and desserts for our lunch delivery. Information about our assigned dates comes out in the weekly announcements but please reach out to lawrencejcc@gmail.com if you want to get involved!
