Robin Rosenberg & Barry Shalinsky

For 15 years before we moved to Lawrence, we sent small, but regular donations to the LJCC. This congregation was a major part of Barry's life when he lived in Lawrence during the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, and was his home away from home during the time he was away.  When our family moved to Lawrence, we started paying regular dues and making small donations, and became active members of the congregational community. Then COVID hit. Pre COVID, the shoe-makers' children had no shoes. We are both lawyers, but didn't have any estate planning documents. We used our first stimulus check to remedy that situation. We worked with a very thoughtful estate planning attorney who guided us in thinking about the future needs of our minor children, adult relatives, and the important institutions in our lives. We chose to include the LJCC in our plans with a specific bequest. It's not a huge amount of money now, but we hope that as time goes on, other needs for our funds will decrease and we can increase the amount. We feel it is critically important to do something tangible to make sure the LJCC endures for future generations.
