4:00 PM - 5:00 PMCome learn about the two tikkun Olam projects in which the LJCC is currently engaged and how you can support their work: the Lawrence Ecology Teams United in Sustainability (LET-US) and the Lawrence Interdenominational Nutritional Kitchen (LINK). Have your own idea about how the LJCC can work to repair the world? Attend the meeting and be a community organizer!
We'll also discuss our new Mitzvah of the Month program.
From LET-US' home page:
We take seriously our responsibility to Earth, our home, as a place where all creation flourishes. As an interfaith network in the Lawrence community, we endeavor to be faithful, relevant, and effective servants for educating and advocating eco-justice and environmental sustainability. From LINK's home page:
Home cooking heals. Our human legacy is tied to food. It’s that basic. We know its power for sustaining and nourishing our bodies. But we also know that sharing food heals loneliness, human differences, and monetary divides. The purpose of LINK is to share home-cooked, nutritious meals with kindness in a safe and welcoming environment with families, the homeless, hungry, lonely, physically or mentally disabled, and the poor.
