Our monthly family-friendly Shabbat. Doors open at 5:30pm for a nosh with a short service of song and prayers at 6:30pm. Members of the Khaliqi and Tringalis families, whom we have been supporting as a congregation, will also be in attendance. At around 6pm, whoever wishes to speak will give us an update on their lives here in Lawrence. Board members from AIR may also be in attendance.

Potluck theme is get rid of your chametz! The LJCC will serve blintzes. If possible, let us know in the notes section what you will bring.

In response to our congregation-wide discussion about the recent ICE activity in Lawrence and our community's desire to take action locally, we have decided that helping out our neighborhood school, Hillcrest Elementary, would be a good first step. Hillcrest has specific needs for the many international families it serves. These include, most immediately, food bags for spring break; small and medium girl and boy clothes, including small-sized underwear; and monetary donations to the school's negative lunch account. LJCC members are encouraged to contact the school directly to inquire about other ways they can help (including volunteering for student pick-up and drop-off, getting groceries for families, etc.). The school also needs hygiene products: deodorant, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. In response, we are starting a hygiene product drive between now and the end of March. Please bring your hygiene products to the LJCC's social hall and they will be delivered to Hillcrest at the end of the month.
